FUMIGATION INDUSTRY - WHY USE GAS DETECTORS
😍 Fumigation of exported goods is a method of using chemicals to treat insects present in goods, containers, and to help ship and cargo compartments that use paper or wooden packaging, shelves or wooden crates become clean, uncontaminated, ... in the process of transporting goods, prevent the spread of parasitic living microorganisms in the wood veins between countries around the world.
🤔 Why fumigate export goods?
🚢 Companies will choose to export goods by sea instead of road, to save costs. As a result, the transport time will often be long, and the goods will be sealed in containers with high temperature (above 40oC) for a long period of time; favorable conditions for pathogens to proliferate.
✔️ Fumigation of exported goods is an international regulation to minimize and control the spread of harmful insect organisms.
✔️ Fumigation of goods before exporting also helps importers to carry out customs clearance procedures smoothly.
✔️ Exported goods need to meet customs regulations at the port of destination, otherwise they will be subject to heavy penalties.
✔️ Importing countries in the world will not allow import of certain types of goods for which exporters cannot present fumigation documents.
💥 Items to consider fumigation
👉 Products of organic origin such as agricultural products (coffee, pepper, cashew, ...)
👉 Products of wood origin (rattan, bamboo, handicrafts, wood products without surface treatment, ...)
👉 Packaging of wood origin, such as wooden bales, wooden pallets, ceramic goods packaging, machinery, spare parts, ...
👉 Some other items required by importers.
⚡ Due to the use of chemicals in disinfectant spray, it is essential to check the concentration of residual disinfectant in the cargo holds.
✨ For example: For goods that are plants, flowers and trees, after landing, gas concentration will be measured by FI-8000 or SC-8000 device. After that, if there is excess gas, the goods will be fumigated in the warehouse with PH3 (Phosphine) and CH3Br (Methyl Bromide) chemicals. Then, two devices, SP-220 and GX-6000, will be used to check the residual gas.
✨ In addition, it is necessary to equip gas leak detectors to protect personnel who are performing disinfection work, such as personal portable gas detectorSC-04 (PH3).
