Gas detectors of all brands generally need to be corrected (at least once a year) in order for the measured values to be accurate, ultimately ensuring user safety. If the detector is not corrected periodically, it can still be used, but the measured value will be uncertain or it is possible that a leak has occurred but the device still does not alarm.
– Correction: the maintenance and technical operation base on the manufacturer's documentation to bring the measured values of the device to the standard value according to the concentration of the standard gas cylinder prepared.
– Calibration: the work of checking the measured value of the equipment with the standard gas concentrations calculated based on the scale of the device, from the influencing factors. And the measurement uncertainty of the device is thereby calculated. And the company has been certified by the General Department of Metrology of Vietnam according to Decree 105. Calibration is more legal than correction
Currently, the state has not specified any specific regulations on gas detector calibration. This is only a requirement for certain occupations. Depending on the requirements of each agency, calibration will be performed according to Decree 105 or ISO.

Correction is required to assess sensor conditions. In some cases, it is still usable without correction, but the reliability level is not high. Then the device does not work correctly.
